Back to School Reset Isn’t Just for the Kids 🍂

Hey Reader,

Have you prepped for back to school?

And no, I don’t mean the backpacks, lunchboxes, or “Meet the Teacher” nights. I’m talking about something way more important: Your back-to-school mom self-care.

I didn’t fully realize this shift until my little one started Kindergarten.

Something changed in the air. Even though the weather still screamed summer, I found myself dreaming of pumpkin lattes, cozy sweaters, and hayrides (Fall is definitely my love language)

Here’s my back-to-school mom checklist.

Not for Target runs but for your sacral mom self-care reset.

The Back-to-School Self-Care Ritual:

  1. Schedule a personal day - If you work 9–5, take a PTO day just for you. If you are self-employed...even better. Drop the kids off and come home to quiet.
  2. Order your favorite fancy meal - Whether it’s takeout or a solo sit-down lunch, make it special. No sharing bites and no distractions.
  3. Book that beauty maintenance - New season = fresh energy. Haircut, mani-pedi, brow touch-up… whatever helps you feel aligned.
  4. Create your mini spa moment - A midday bath with eucalyptus and no tiny hands knocking… or use a resort pass for a hotel day. You deserve it.
  5. Choose connection with yourself or sisterhood 🤍 Do you need time alone or coffee with another mom who just gets it? Trust your intuition here.
  6. Catch up on your health 🩺 The kids are back in school. It’s time to schedule your doctor, dentist, therapist or whatever support your body and soul need.

Back to school isn’t just a transition for your kids. It’s an invitation for you to come home to yourself again.

This season, let it be about more than to-do lists. Let it be about aligned routines, sacred care, and a grounded return to YOU.

A New Year Mom Pattern Reset

Hey Reader, Every January I notice the same thing with working moms. The new year feels like a reset.A fresh start.A chance to finally do things differently. But then the months go by and many moms end up doing the same things they’ve always done. That’s not a failure. It’s how patterns work. Patterns are things we do over and over. Some patterns are helpful. For example, putting your child to bed at the same time each night helps them sleep better. When you change that pattern, everything...

Mom Getaway

Hey Reader, I asked for time away from the kids this weekend and I noticed how hard it is to get away from your kids not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. It made me realize that even when I asked for time away, they were still with me. My mind was busy tracking everything:Did my 14-month-old sleep through the night? Were they okay having chicken nuggets for dinner?Did I explain enough before I left? I wondered if my husband could really handle two kids on his own—especially after...

Baby Crying

Hey Reader, This morning, I got a wake up call from my 10-month old baby who decided 4am was a perfect time to rise and shine. I had two choices: crawl back into bed and pray for 30 more minutes of sleep… or sneak in a workout before the house exploded with noise and needs. This summer has been crazy with snack demands! I chose the workout but I wanted to be close to my baby. So it was in my 8-year-old’s bedroom. Because of course she doesn't want to sleep in her own bed. #momlife It wasn’t...
